It's your body! Be a sexless teen!
Many have heard that it is lame to be in high school, and still a virgin; but the reality of that statement, is false. Studies have shown that waiting to have sex is healthier, and allows the person to be more fit, and active in the future.. They have also shown that those who wait till marriage or until they are in their twenties, have not only better sex, but happier lives. Take for instance, a teenage mother; she started having sex young, and ended up with a baby before she was mentally and physically prepared.
Name: Emily
Age:16
Home State: Georgia
First Boyfriend: Scott, Age-17, Grade they met in- 6th
First Date with Scott: Freshman Year
First Time having sex with Scott: Sophomore Year
Grade she became pregnant: Sophomore Year
When she realized she should have waited: After her baby was born.
Now, with help from the family, things can be more of a breeze; but not the coasting breeze she once thought high school would be. Instead, this teen mother, thought she was ready to get "down and dirty". In fact, she was no where close to being prepared for being "down and dirty".
"I thought I could handle the emotional and physical attachment, that I would gain when I let Scott convince me to have sex with him. Although, after the first couple of times of having sex; I would get jealous when he talked with other girls, even the female teachers. I know it sounds crazy. In fact, it is! But, at the time, I didn't care; he was my man, and mine only!"I was so depressed when I found out I was pregnant. I thought, 'Why me?', 'Why not someone else?'. I knew that was a rational thought; how would want to be pregnant at sixteen? Not me, I say now. I should have waited. If I had, I would have so many problems when it comes to dating now, and I wouldn't have poor; along with belly fat that won't go away."-Emily
When approached by a friend about sex, he or she should take one approach. That approach is, "WAIT!". If he or she tells others to wait, and acts upon their own advice, then neither them or their friend would have to worry about future dating problems, excess weight, fatigue, a possible STD or HIV, or telling a story of the pain of not waiting.
